I did not have an issues with the code here, but it requires that the preceding code–the definition of the Add instrument–be evaluated prior to the schedule. Also, the entire instrument definition must be evaluated all at once, from the beginning ‘instr’ to the ending ‘endin’. If you have the cursor within those boundaries and have nothing selected, then press ctrl-e or ctrl-enter, the live coding interface will search out for nearest instr/endin pair and evaluate the entire definition.

In Tutorial 2 the first proposed code seems to be a problem.
The entry “Add”, appearing in purple in the tutorial appears in red in Live Coding and the evaluation gives nothing.
